Yep, that's why I hate URU and will never again attempt it. Have hauled out all the others to replay, years apart (actually a problem now with later OS's). Even the timed puzzles in some of them have my teeth in peril of crushing each other. I HATE dexterity tests - there are gazillions of other games to satisfy agile fingers. I vote Josh as candidate to resuscitate the Myst series! There must be a million other who feel as forlorn as me?

There are a couple different ways of approaching it, but long story short, you have to make the inertia of the tea as it leaves the spout greater than its tendency to adhere to the spout. You can achieve this by either decreasing the surface tension (as mentioned above) or increasing the velocity of the tea as it leaves the spout. Intuitively, I feel like you could achieve this by raising the spout & pointing it down more, but I don't have anything to support that. Perhaps you could experiment?

Josh, so true. Though I think the idea is to put the butter on the outside to break the surface tension, so that the tea doesn't start down the outside of the spout?

Have you any more thoughts on this subject, especially as it applies to potters? The problem with the thin wall solution is that its difficult to make and easy to break.

Cheers
